9:06 PM I'm back

My weblog is no longer looking quite so blank. Need to watch the size of those logs now that XULPlanet is getting more traffic, I guess.

2:59 PM Peace and war

So, if a man can be arrested for wearing a peace shirt, what would happen if a prisoner in jail put on a pro-war shirt?

11:30 PM 99 things

Hmmm. It seems that in Russia, there are only 99 things Mozilla can do that IE cannot. Wonder what the 2 other things are, since I can't understand the text (despite apparently owning the copyright).

7:40 PM Latest Poll Results

Well, the latest poll results are in! The winner of most annoying person is, of course, andkon! And he still would have won even if he hadn't voted for himself five times. Well, technically, tied with Jenny Craig at least. But, anyone who spends extra time voting for himself multiple times has got to get a couple of bonus votes.

Speaking of Jenny Craig, according to this page, he/she is setting up a new site at www.lardzillazine.org. I wonder if it will be a parody of mozillazine.org? Doubt it will be as funny as mozillaquestquest.com, the parody of mangelo's site. I wonder, too, if Jenny is planning to actually register the domain. Always a good idea before announcing a new site. I've seen companies get hit by this problem before.

Bruce only got two votes. He's from a few years back, so I didn't think anyone would actually remember him.

Rounding up the list, mangelo and JTK got 5 votes each. I suppose people have gotten used to them by now.

2:16 PM On superpowers

When people think of what superpower they would want, most people respond with ordinary superpowers like flying or invisibility or X-ray vision. Unless you plan on putting on a costume and saving the world from evil, many of the common superpowers are really only useful for causing a lot of mischief.

I mean, being able to walk around invisible doesn't have a lot of practical legal uses. Nor does X-ray vison. Nor a heat ray. At least, not unless you plan on having a lot of barbecues.

The kinds of abilities you do want are the ones that aren't as cool, but are more useful. Like being able to deflate your legs to fit into an airplane seat. Or being able to clean something with the wave of a hand.

I think if I had a superpower, I'd want the ability to save. That way, if I have a big decision to make, I can just quickly save, and later if I realize I didn't like the outcome, I can just reload and try again.

Didn't like the chicken? No problem. Just reload and have the soup instead. Fell down the stairs and broke your leg? Again, no big issue. Just reload and take the elevator.
